How to interpret the map?


According to WHO’s air quality guidelines, fine particulate matter under 2.5mm in diameter, also called PM2.5 are air pollutants and health hazard. PM 2.5 can penetrate through the lungs and further enter the body through the blood stream, affecting all major organs.


WHO standards for PM2.5 allow for an estimation of long-term health impacts in the community and can be used to provide hourly guidance regarding when the air is unsafe to breathe for sensitive populations such as children or people with respiratory impairments


To help interpret air quality data, the Air Quality Index (AQI) uses a color-coded system to communicate the levels of pollution. Here's what each color signifies:
